Details

The ASTM D7777 test method employs an oscillating U-tube within a portable digital density meter. The change in oscillation frequency, due to the sample’s mass, is used alongside calibration data to determine the sample’s density, relative density, or API gravity. The method is suitable for determining density to the nearest 1 kg/m³. For higher precision measurements, Test Method D4052 is recommended.
